One of North Yorkshire’s leading partnerships is among the top 7% in the UK for developing and supporting staff.
Staff at the North Yorkshire Building Control Partnership (NYBCP) which provides a flexible and modern building control service for Hambleton, Richmondshire , Ryedale, Selby and Scarborough Councils - have scooped the Investors in People Gold Award.
The Investors in People (IIP) Gold Award is earned by only 7% of firms who take part in the scheme – aimed at encouraging development and support for staff.
“We would like to congratulate NYBCP on their Gold standard,” said Paul Devoy, Head of IIP.
“Such a high level of accreditation is the sign of great people management, demonstrates a commitment to staff development and shows the organisation is committed to being the best it can be.”
The North Yorkshire Building Control Partnership was the first local authority building control partnership in the UK. Its team of dedicated staff administer building regulations across the partnership area, whilst undertaking plan checking for numerous partners across the UK. It also undertakes checks on dangerous structures and demolition notices.
Chair of the Partnership, Richmondshire District Councillor Jane Parlour, added:
“The prestigious Gold Award is only given to organisations who can demonstrate excellence in developing and supporting their staff. It is a fantastic achievement and so well deserved for the team.”
And Les Chapman, Head of Building Control for the NYBCP based in Easingwold, said:
“I am extremely proud of the team and this award highlights just how hard we have all worked to ensure the best possible service for local people.”
Building Regulations are national standards for England and Wales which apply to most types of buildings, whether in the home or a commercial development.
